Description
Sign up with a group of your friends to go out once a week throughout the winter. Let us take care of figuring out where to find the best snow and manage the current avalanche hazard. If you sign up early, there is an early bird discount of 10% applied to all of your tours.
HOW TO CREATE A GROUP AND WEEKLY PROCEDURES:
Find a minimum of 4 friends to go out each week
Assign a group leader to organize your group/take lead. This person will provide our office with the group’s full names and email addresses as well as which day of the week the group will go out (Ex: Tuesdays)
Come up with a Team Name
Schedule your season’s dates BEFORE your season starts
The standard rate for a weekly group (min. 4 people) is $225/person. If you pay in full by December 1 for a min. of 6 weeks, we offer an early bird discount of 10% before tax. If you’d like to add more sessions towards the end of the season we will honor your early bird discount. If you do not pay in full by December 1, then standard rates apply.
If you are not able to go out one week and you have paid in advance, your weekly spot is transferable with at least 48 hours notice. You may either invite someone to take your place and arrange to have that person reimburse you directly or we can issue you a “gift card” credit to apply to another weekly tour later in this current season (a minimum of 4 people must go out for your “make-up week”). If your group falls below the 4-person minimum, the others in your group will be up-charged according to the size of their group. (Encourage members to find a 4th sub to not fall below minimum requirement)
If you have not paid in advance we can remove you from that week (with at least 48 hours notice), but if your group falls under the 4-person minimum, the others in your group will be subject to the standard rates according to the group size (groups of 3: $250/person; groups of 2: $325/person)
After the current season, any remaining credit can be used for day trips during the following summer season or into the following winter until December 31st.

Defender/Side-by-Side: $100/PERSON ($400 MIN.) MAX. 5
Snowmobile: $50/PERSON ($200 MIN.)

Yes! Sun Valley Guides guided programs do not require backcountry experience. You do need to be an intermediate to advanced skier with good fitness. If you’re joining a yurt trip, make sure to check the details of the climb into the yurt as distances and difficulty vary with each location.

To ensure the safety of both guests and guides, we require that all guests to carry reliable avalanche gear that meets our criteria. This includes an 3 antenna avalanche transceiver, a metal avalanche shovel, and a click-lock mechanism avalanche probe.

Gratuity is not included in the trip fee. As with other service industries, it is customary to tip your guide(s) if you are satisfied with their service. A gratuity of 10-20% of the total trip fee is standard, reflecting the quality and excellence of your experience. Cash or Venmo is preferred.
