Equipment List
AMGA certified guides will be carrying a first aid kit, navigation equipment, inReach satellite device, repair kit, and survival supplies.
Sun Valley Guides Provide:
Maps, compasses, and a free trial for CalTopo mapping app
Tents, backpacking stoves, sleeping bags
Food for the entire week
What you need:
1-2 liters of water (hydration bladders work well)
Rain jacket
Insulated jacket or puffy coat
Warm mid-layer(s)
Lightweight pants (cotton, jeans, or sweatpants not recommended)
Breathable t-shirt for warmer weather and/or a sun hoodie (recommended for cool or cloudy days)
Lightweight gloves (weather dependent)
Beanie or lightweight wool hat
Running shoes or light-duty hiking boots
2-3 pairs of wool hiking socks (Smartwool socks)
2 pairs of underwear
Sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, bug spray, and a brimmed hat
Toiletry kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, personal medication, etc.)
Camp shoe (lightweight sandals or crocs)
Day pack (~60 liters) that is big enough to carry all the above items
Sleeping pad (bring a patch kit if inflatable)
Sleeping bag (~30*F rated - SVG has some for rent)
Plastic bowl and spork for eating meals (Tupperware works!)
